Kira M’Lot

I have been working with, and training dogs since 2007. I started working in dog kennels and shelters before taking a dog trainer apprenticeship course. I then moved on to lease out a dog kennel which I ran for 3 years before building and opening my own facility, A Dogs Life K9 Centre in 2012. After rapidly growing A Dogs Life, I closed the business and leased the facility out to another business. I decided that working 24/7 wasn’t the life for me and I have moved over to working with animals in film.

I enjoy the challenge of dynamic atmosphere on set, and no two days are ever the same. I work with my own dogs and farm animals, as well as others animals. I train with positive reinforcement, mostly food, as it works very well on set!

I also perform, work and compete with my dogs outside of film. We have performed at trade shows as well as with the Superdogs. Envy is a working search and rescue dog. I validated her under the RCMP at just 2 years old. I have also competed in agility, tracking, obedience, nose work, field, conformation and dock jumping.

I love what I do, and I look forward to working with your pet someday!
